Independent Study 2020: Storytelling for Organizations
This specialized guided study concentrated on writing feature stories for an organization’s selected stakeholders and internal and external publics. Throughout the study, I learned to apply principles and processes of interviewing and to secure valuable, targeted information to help develop the client’s public relations initiative. I composed a series of backgrounder pieces that can either be used as separate pieces or put together for a larger, comprehensive story. I created an infographic as well, which focuses on what storytelling can be used to do when writing public relations content for organizations. During this specialized study, I ultimately learned how to effectively use the principles of storytelling to write compelling public relations content.
